A New Word for 2017 //

Before the year started, my word for 2017 was CELEBRATE. It was something I had been thinking about a few months leading up to the year, probably because 2016 was ROUGH. When I got to the end of the year, I held onto the word, but it didn't feel right anymore. I looked at my goals. I thought about what I wanted my life to reflect in 2017. While I hope that this year brings tons of celebrations, I have a new word for 2017.

My new word for 2017 is REFINE.

Refine means to purify, to remove impurities or to improve and perfect by pruning.

And THAT fits much better into my life this year.

Do you know how they refine GOLD? They melt it. They put it through fire-- and when it comes out on the other side, it's BETTER. (Does that just speak to you or WHAT?!)

This year has already been so much removing of impurities-- removing of the extra, the excess, the things that weigh me down, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

I'm throwing off every weight that holds me back. I'm getting rid of the food that makes me feel sluggish-- even though it's delicious. I'm giving up extra spending that puts me in debt-- even though I want it. I'm removing the distractions that keep me from the important things-- even though I like checking out.

This is the year of doing GOOD, uncomfortable things.

How are you REFINING yourself this year?
