It's that time again! Time to check in on our 101 in 1001 lists. Today, I'm linking up with my good blog and IRL friend, Macy, to see how everyone is doing with their 101 in 1001 lists. It's not too late to join! Just create a list and link-up with us every 3 months! (:
Visit 10 new places with Brandon (11/10) We are officially crossing this one off the list! We made it back to Boston and to Providence, Rhode Island. You can read more about our trip HERE.
Be halfway done with our baseball stadium challenge (7/15) I am pretty proud of us and how well we are doing with this. When we were in Boston, we were able to check Fenway Park off the list!
Try 30 new bars/restaurants/coffee shops in Baltimore (13/30) This used to be "Try 10 new bars", "Try 10 new restaurants" and "Try 10 new coffee shops" because I was getting confused with the logistics of it all. If we go to a restaurant that also has a bar and we sit at the bar but only get drinks...is it considered a bar or restaurant? What if I go to a coffee shop that also have a full food menu...then what do I do? I didn't want to get caught up in it all and I just wanted to remember that the goal was to just get out more and support local business. We just had a blate at Wicked Sisters in Hampden and it was so good! Brandon and I also tried Sticky Rice for the first time...YUM. New favorite restaurant!
Pay off all our credit cards (2/4) We just paid off our second credit card this month! We are officially halfway with paying them off. The last two are two of our biggest debts, but with me working soon, I am so excited to get these bad boys paid off and NEVER. LOOK. BACK. #cashisking
Re-read every book of the Bible (7/66) This one has been slower than I would like it to be but I'm getting into a good habit of reading and meditating every day. My freshmen year of college I read the entire Bible to figure out what I truly believe and it was an incredibly enlightening process. I felt so alive as I read these words and I just felt something inside of me change. Since we got married and have had more distractions in our lives, I definitely have let reading my Bible/true, good words every day fall to the wayside. But no longer. I've been waking up early before work to read something- even something small to start to my day. It's making such a difference.
I recently read the book of Esther and my favorite verse was "Maybe you were made queen for a time such as this." I love the phrase "time such as this". It makes me wonder if I am where I am right now for a time such as this. It gives me such comfort to know that we are all where we need to be when we need to be there.
I also read 2 Corinthians. My favorite verse was "If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come! The old has gone, the new is here!" This verse gives me SUCH comfort that we are not who we used to be. We are not our mistakes, our embarrassments, our regrets. The past is forgotten, there is only now.
Right now, I'm reading through Proverbs. I am LOVING this book! I am finding it so easy to read, especially in the morning when I am barely awake. It's the perfect easy book to just grab a nugget of truth to chew on throughout the day. So far my favorite verse is "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." I love how poetic this verse it and it's so true. Whatever you have going on in your heart will flow out in your actions and words. If you don't guard your heart from bitterness, hatred, anger, jealousy and lies, that's what will show up in your life. Overall, I am loving getting back into reading the Bible again!
How are you doing with your 101 in 1001 list? Do you have one? If you don't, what would be on yours?
